NaPoWriMo 2014 Post #23 A homophonic translation of Manuel Bandeira  “O último poema’

So when I read this prompt last night, I had a problem, whether to do a homophonic translation on a Brazilian poem or a Korean one. I have never learned to read Hangul, so that’ll be a challenge in itself or stick to something similar but not quite same to the languages I’ve studied. I picked Brazilian poet Manuel Bandeira’s poem “O último poema” to do a homophonic translation with.

My ultimate poem (a homophonic translation)
As I want of my ultimate poem
Quiet feelings tender discussions like choices more simple and minor intentions
Quiet feelings ardent like a solution sans tears
Quiet truth the beauty of the flowers quandary sans perfume
To the purity of the charms that consumes the limpid diamonds
To the passion of the suicides that kill themselves  sans explanation.

O último poema by Manuel Bandeira

Assim eu quereria o meu último poem

Well done, Salsachica! Everyone I’ve talked with seemed to have fun with this prompt and it looks like you did, too. All the best!
