Napowrimo 2014 Post #15 Where the wildflowers grow

I have been having a mental block these past week, being doped up on meds doesn’t really help in mental clarity. It’s funny, how when I tried to write on the ipad, nothing seems to flow. So I took pen to paper today and here’s my take on Terza Rima, where its a 3-line stanza in the rhyming form of aba bcb cdc a single line that’ll rhyme with d.

Where the wildflowers grow

Let us take a long walk
To where the wildflowers grow
There’s a quiet spot where we used to talk

The solitary raintree where we go
For lengthy chats and short naps
We’d rest against the trunk like so

We’d picnic with roast beef baps
And roasted peanuts wrapped in cones
But when we hear sudden thunder claps

We’d run all the way back home

Nicely done! (Though I don’t know what a “bap” is…)

Hi Karin! Thanks! Still have a few more poems to catch up with everyone. A bap is a sorta round bread roll but it vould also mean rice in Korean, here I was referring to the bread roll filled with roast beef mmmm 🙂
