Napowrimo Post # 6 Observing the world outside

The prompt today for Napowrimo was to look out the window and observe what’s out there, jot down what you see, what colors and what verbs that describe them. Jumble those words up and create a poem. I was still at work when I checked what the challenge for today was. Here’s my view outside the window at work this evening.

Observing the world outside

Ten past eight on a Sunday
I’m still at work, it’s pretty  late
Out the window, I stare
Observing the world outside,
Instead of going out on a date.
A solitary lamp post illuminate the night,
With warm orange lights.
Two trishaws with multi-colored fairy-lights, honk
Vying  for tourists that walk by.
Nobody takes a ride.
Three drunk men stagger to cross the street,
In bright orange construction vests,
Shuffling slowly their feet.
A Yellow and a blue taxi at the stand queue.
No passengers around.
No fares to be found.
