NaPoWriMo Post #21 Lines from Fortune cookies

Fortune cookies how I loved cracking thee! 3 weeks of NaPoWriMo have gone by so fast, day 21 and the prompt requires one to re-write Frank O’Hara’s Lines for the Fortune Cookies. the first time i ever had fortune cookies was in Perth, in a box, at Woolworth’s. I can’t really find it easily in Singapore unless it’s during the Lunar New Year period, and supermarket house brands will come out for a limited duration. What I found similar to these crispy crackers were tiny Japanese tuilles, no idea what it’s called coz I can’t read the characters.

Start each morning with a smile, you’ll find happiness in a short while
If you hide your emotions within, you are hiding who you actually are inside
You wear a mask, remove it and be your fabulous self
Express your joy in every little wonderment that happens
Be like a child and live every day blissfully, shove stress aside
Stress will always get to you, don’t let it take over your life
Appreciate your family, for they will always be there when you screw up
You are all grown up don’t act like an insolent pup
Don’t behave like an ignoramus when you are actually a genius
Your actions are a reflection of your upbringing, don’t embarrass your parents
Cherish your journey instead of the destination
Good deeds begets good karma, good karma leads to a happier soul
Contentment with what you already have, everything will suffice
If you accept yourself and all that you are then others will in turn accept you
You will meet a tall, dark and handsome stranger that’ll sweep you off your feet
Live your life to the fullest and when the time is right, a soulmate you will meet
