BBQ Korean at Cineleisure Orchard

After Isyak prayers last night, we decided to have dinner at Orchard. Utterly rare for the whole family to decide to eat there since its usually so crowded. Or maybe its because its due to my constant bugging yesterday morning. Anyways, Adik got off class at 9.45pm so by the time the orders arrived, it was still piping hot. The manager remembered me from all the times I had dinner there with my mates, service was great and the servers whilst waiting to serve was dancing to the korean pop music video that was screened on the wall. For a Wednesday night, it was quiet, there was only one other table occupied by three ladies engrossed in their conversation. Last order is at 10.15pm, and then suddenly whilst we were perusing the menu, a huge crowd of people came in , I guess they came for supper after watching a movie upstairs. Anyways we decided to order 2 family sets of the Korean Charbroiled Chicken, 4 sets of Kochi (wrote about these before in a previous post rather like chicken satay but tastes so much better with its mild spices), Korean Tea (tasted like roasted barley tea..quite a good drink to cleanse the palate), Ice chocolate, Orange juice, and 2 types of Korean desserts. One of them is kinda like brownies ala mode, and the other is like the korean version of ice kachang with red bean, shaved ice, rice cake, vanilla ice cream and a cherry on top.  Quite good! The charbroiled chicken was yummy as usual, the best way to describe the chicken is that its like having grilled chicken but much more moist and juicy with all the flavours of the marinate seeped into it. We also also ordered the Fish cutlet which I think had a panko coating, crispy, and a mayonaise dijon dressing on it served with fries and fresh coleslaw (which tastes so  much better then other coleslaws from fast food joints). With the family set meals, it includes, 4 drinks per set, 2 servings of colesaw per set, 2 servings of fries per set and 8 pieces of charbroiled thigh meat.  Times 2 for all of that. It was a pretty enjoyable meal, rare to have had dinner with the family in Orchard Road. Hmm next time, I’d like to try their soup, looks interesting since so many people ordered that.  Oh and currently there’s a promotion going on with the cinema, you can redeem movie tickets with your receipt from BBQ Korean. I walked over to Cineleisure this morning to redeem the tickets. So we’re going to the movies next week with Mummy and adik🙂
