Taka’s Kitchen

Taka’s Kitchen is my family’s favorite Japanese restaurant in Perth. Everytime we eat here, the place is fully packed by students and stewardesses from our national carrier. A wide variety of choices are available here but my most favourite item on the menu is their Teriyaki Chicken Udon and their croquettes. There are other favourites there like sushi, agedashi tofu and fish katsu. I could keep kicking myself for not realizing that it was a halal establishment back in 2002 when I first moved to Perth. Definitely would make a point to come dine here again for it’s delicious halal and authentic fare. There’s free green tea which one can dispense by yourself. Excellent food!

Aida Cafe Restaurant Club

Located at Northbridge, this Egyptian decorated place was one of the best finds whilst living in Perth. There are belly dancers at certain times performing for the diners and they serve the largest platters of food. I took my kids from Trinity, namely my Hull kids to dinner here, hmm to celebrate an era of me not going to to be there anymore :) I invited the whole wing, but only a few were interested in mediteranean fare, thanks for coming Raj, Tun, Kat, Steph, Wen and Sean. The portions were huge and we took our time enjoying each other’s company. I miss my kids! After dinner whilst waiting for the rest of Trinity to turn up so that we could go to ASIA’s bash, we had smoked some grape flavoured shisha :P

The Oyster Bar

Shaun, Gil, Ee Wen, Cher and I checked out this place famous for its fresh oysters.I’ve been here before with Louise and Victoria. We had a great night with the yummiest oysters, some were baked with a crust of macadamia nuts and some with cheese and myriad of other toppings. I like my oysters raw with a splash of lemon juice, sans tabasco. They ordered a bottle of red, and I got myself a mixed berry caipirinha, virgin might I add, and still yummy :) It was one of my last nights in Perth, and we had the best nights chatting and makaning with each other.
