This was another tea session with Steph a while back. What I really enjoyed here were their desserts. Most especially their warm chocolate pudding and their double chocolate fudge cake. Simply delightful especially when eaten with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Other desserts that are worth trying out here are their vanilla bean creme brulee, pecan pie and baked apple and rhubarb pie. The pecan pie was delicious. The baked apple and rhubarb pie was rather tarty. These desserts were best pared with a pot of Earl Grey. The best thing about Aerin’s is that around 3 pm, you could have a quiet corner to chat with mates whilst enjoying the yummy creations in a really relaxing ambience.

This year we celebrated Adik’s 23rd birthday at Earle’s with really great steaks and sausages. The meat was cooked to perfection, juicy and tender. We ordered Charbroiled T-bone steaks, Grilled Lobster pasta, Surf and Turf, Grilled Cod with Rice, Poultry Combo, Mango Shrimps, Baked Ocean Mussels and for dessert, an Apple Crumble in a sizzling pan topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream which was really yummy. My favourite main I would have to say would be the Poultry Combo. The smoked duck was out of this world and the snail sausage was soooo good. The smoked duck didn’t taste gamey at all, perfectly smoked…wishing I had some now
I’ve always found Earle to provide a much better selection then its normal outlets. The cuts of meat here were much better then the ones I tried at outlets in the city where it was either overcooked, dry and frankly quite a dissapointment despite requesting for a medium steak. It’s been six months since we’ve been to Vivocity, wonder when are we going to Earle’s again though.

After Isyak prayers last night, we decided to have dinner at Orchard. Utterly rare for the whole family to decide to eat there since its usually so crowded. Or maybe its because its due to my constant bugging yesterday morning. Anyways, Adik got off class at 9.45pm so by the time the orders arrived, it was still piping hot. The manager remembered me from all the times I had dinner there with my mates, service was great and the servers whilst waiting to serve was dancing to the korean pop music video that was screened on the wall. For a Wednesday night, it was quiet, there was only one other table occupied by three ladies engrossed in their conversation. Last order is at 10.15pm, and then suddenly whilst we were perusing the menu, a huge crowd of people came in , I guess they came for supper after watching a movie upstairs. Anyways we decided to order 2 family sets of the Korean Charbroiled Chicken, 4 sets of Kochi (wrote about these before in a previous post rather like chicken satay but tastes so much better with its mild spices), Korean Tea (tasted like roasted barley tea..quite a good drink to cleanse the palate), Ice chocolate, Orange juice, and 2 types of Korean desserts. One of them is kinda like brownies ala mode, and the other is like the korean version of ice kachang with red bean, shaved ice, rice cake, vanilla ice cream and a cherry on top. Quite good! The charbroiled chicken was yummy as usual, the best way to describe the chicken is that its like having grilled chicken but much more moist and juicy with all the flavours of the marinate seeped into it. We also also ordered the Fish cutlet which I think had a panko coating, crispy, and a mayonaise dijon dressing on it served with fries and fresh coleslaw (which tastes so much better then other coleslaws from fast food joints). With the family set meals, it includes, 4 drinks per set, 2 servings of colesaw per set, 2 servings of fries per set and 8 pieces of charbroiled thigh meat. Times 2 for all of that. It was a pretty enjoyable meal, rare to have had dinner with the family in Orchard Road. Hmm next time, I’d like to try their soup, looks interesting since so many people ordered that. Oh and currently there’s a promotion going on with the cinema, you can redeem movie tickets with your receipt from BBQ Korean. I walked over to Cineleisure this morning to redeem the tickets. So we’re going to the movies next week with Mummy and adik
