Maple Swiss Roll by Iron Chef Sakai

Really loved this Swiss roll endorsed by Iron Chef Sakai. It comes in Maple, Matcha, Chocolate and plain. The maple Swiss roll was not overly sweet, it had a pudding like filling kinda like Creme Brûlée. As part of the current annual Kyushu fair at Tampines Mall, I rushed to get a few rolls. Chocolate was bittersweet and nutty, plain was nice and fluffy but the best was the maple, not so sweet and simply delicious. Loooooove it!

Aerin’s

This was another tea session with Steph a while back. What I really enjoyed here were their desserts. Most especially their warm chocolate pudding and their double chocolate fudge cake. Simply delightful especially when eaten with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.  Other desserts that are worth trying out here are their vanilla bean creme brulee, pecan pie and baked apple and rhubarb pie.  The pecan pie was delicious. The baked apple and rhubarb pie was rather tarty. These desserts were best pared with a pot of Earl Grey. The best thing about Aerin’s is that around 3 pm, you could have a quiet corner to chat with mates whilst enjoying the yummy creations in a really relaxing ambience.
