Seoul Garden Hot Pot

Seoul Garden Hot Pot is the new name of Fresh Bulgogi, the Korean BBQ place I raved about many posts ago that was located at Terminal 2. It now has moved and taken over the space that RamenTen used to occupy at Harbourfront, right beside Pastamania.

Menu has somewhat changed, no longer do you have a shared hotpot, instead there’s individual servings. I have to say, I much enjoy this way of eating. I’ve tried the miso seafood and miso sliced beef hot pot and they’re just so good. The amount of seafood and sliced beef is a lot per person. The raw sliced beef cooks gently in the hot broth, making the miso soup even more delicious.

One gripe I have to say they no longer serve smoked duck at the restaurant. I found a new favourite side dish, marinated cold clams! OMG just perfect accompaniment to the bowl of hot rice. And if you top up $3 to the meal, you get 3 side dishes and a bowl of dessert. Their side dishes are just flavourful, there’s kimchi potatoes, beancurd, cabbage etc. A must try has to be their seafood pancake, deep fried mandu and their fried seafood tanghoon. And to make this whole meal perfect, order the hot cinnamon tea seriously warms you up.

They have other dishes on the menu like bibimbap and hot pots with kimchi base, but miso has become my personal favourite.

Korean Kimchi Hotpot

[This restaurant has moved to Harbourfront] After a weekend of eating & shopping in KL, I was ready to go home. My flight reached Singapore by 745pm, a 15 minutes delay. Called my folks & they said to meet @ Terminal 2, so I dragged all my bags from Terminal 1 and took the skytrain. I guess it was worth it because we had Korean hot pot @ Seoul Garden Hot Pot. They had smoked duck on the menu!!!! I was so psyched!!! The kimchi broth & all the mushrooms & vegetables was wonderful. I took sirloin slices and swirled it in the hot pot, dipped it in the green sauce, to die for!!!! The smoked duck was so tender and had such a smoky taste, muy delicioso! I wanted more! But everything in moderation :) we also tried the seafood pancake, there was a nice dipping sauce, chilli oil and something like a shrimp mixture kinda like ikan bilis sambal tumis. It was so good! There were also different types of kimchi, mushrooms, white radish & cucumber kimchi. I love the variety!

Dinner at Fresh Bulgogi

What can be better other then hanging out with your family on a Friday night at Terminal 2? Korean BBQ Short Beef Ribs! I love ribs, and most especially beef ribs. Mom usually uses beef ribs to make Rawon, a kind of a dark stew that uses buah keluak a black and bitter nut in which we only use the flesh of the nut, while with mutton ribs she makes dalcha with lots of brinjal and ladysfingers. So that’s why when we eat out, I make it a point to order ribs cooked in a different manner, like at Breeks with a sweet and tangy barbeque sauce or at JWOK with a  thick sweet glaze. At Fresh Bulgogi all meat are served to you raw. They provide a set of 3 sauces, I think one’s garlic, the other is probably green chilli and corriander and gojuchang sauce which is a thick red and sweet bean paste. You can either dip the ribs into the sauce and lay it on the griddle and hear the sweet sounds of meat sizzling. Or you could just be like me, just pure meat, unadulterated beefy goodness :) I like my meat cooked till medium, when you bite into them, it just melts like butter. Hmmm ribs  can’t wait to have some soon :) 23092009153
