Here’s a cozy place to hang out over cakes and ice cream. First and foremost I adore the cakes here especially the Caraibe a cube of decadent chocolate cake, enveloped by a thick chocolate shell and as you pierce through the outer layer, there’s heavenly honest to goodness the yummiest ganache I’ve tasted inside. Other then the selection of cakes, there’s a selection of handmade chocolates which are to die for and of course their Macarons. Their frangrant rose and sinful chocolate macarons win hands down when compared to Gobi’s miniature selections. Although, Bakerzin’s macaron selection is as delectable and might I dare say surpass Canele’s. Anyways back to what else was there to order during one of our usual tête à tête sessions. We decided to try the Oreo Cheesecake and the pink piece de la resistance: L’amour which was a rose petal ice cream with lychee pieces and dressed with raspberry coulis and rose meringue sticks. Divine!!!

Steph and I usually go out for tea about every other week, checking out old and new places to have desserts and tea at. We checked out Aerin’s at Raffle’s City since Menotti’s was closed! How devastating for an Affogato and Sofiato lover like me! The decor was rather chic and classy, only a handful of customers enjoying their mid-afternoon drinks, perfect for a goss session. The menu itself was rather tempting, but we knew what we wanted immediately: Warm Chocolate Pudding, Double Chocolate Fudge Cake and Tiramisu in Glass. And to wash it all down we ordered ice blended drinks: Mango Diva Tango and Punchless Pina Colada. We dug our little forks into the warm chocolate pudding, simply divine as to how the creamy vanilla ice cream perfectly paired with the indulgent pudding. The Double Chocolate Fudge cake was perfect, not too cloyingly sweet and not to jelak after every bite. Whilst the Tiramisu in Cup was just nice to round of the desserts. The drinks were quite interesting ice blendeds, I liked how the Punchless Pina Colada tasted, not as sugar-rush like CBTL’s. Might give Aerin’s another go, their Baked Apple and Rhubarb pie looked so tempting
And the Pecan Pie ala mode is calling my name

Marvelous Cream

Tiramisu Parfait

Strawberry Parfait

Banana Creme Brulee

A box of banana creme brulee

Layers in a parfait and no, Japanese is not a language I understand
I chanced upon this dessert ice cream place sometime in late june, whilst on my way to Suntec to get the family halal ham chim peng, you tiao and other deep fried goodies from a stall at Food Republic, the posters blocking the renovations that were going inside were tantalising. After my weekly dentist visit this morning, I found that I had sometime to spare before going to work, and so I walked quickly along citylink, met an old collegemate along the way, before finally standing infront of the mesmerising store..sigh..the smells of freshly made waffles was tantalising making my already no-brekky morning hungry. I couldn’t decide what to get and instead got almost all of their french parfait selections well except for the noisette (which was sold out!!) and the mont blanc. This Japanese French ice cream place seriously has a beautiful selection of parfaits, a box of 6 french parfaits complete with dry ice and styrofoam box was less then fifty bucks. When I finally got to work, and tried ‘em it was like a myriad of tastes with every spoonful, the banana creme brulee parfait was c’est fantastique! A perfect melange of flavours, of caramel and sweet bananas interlaced with a layer of sponge and luxuriously smooth and creamy ice cream. The same goes for the other 5 french parfaits in the styrofoam box which I shared with the family, and they too gave thumbs up for these desserts. This is definitely a must go place if one enjoys decadent desserts, only one thing to remember to never go after a dental appointment, my newly tightened braces made my teeth sensitive to the cold ice cream, but it was worth it for that delicious parfait.
